There are 4 buildings to explore for the price of one. I wish I knew this before spending too much time in the first building. All of the buildings are connected by the lower level. There is a good variety of art spanning several eras. I happen to go during the Picasso exhibition, which was very interesting. If you are in Montreal I highly recommend visiting this place.
There's sooooo much to see, even for free, I couldn't tour it all even in hours. For someone that likes to stop and analyze each piece and not just glance at them, expect to spend a day there. A beautiful place no matter how many times I would go. I could go a few times and still see each painting again and never get bored. Such a wonderful museum. Also perfect for a first date if you're an art geek!
Great expo's, very well built. Interactive options are available and audio guides as well. Superb site in downtown montreal. Only issue is the people. So many people that don't know proper etiquette. Understandable, as this is a pretty tourist oriented place, but it did mine my experience somewhat. Still worth the visit!
The entire museum is so well laid out, it's incredible. Many great views of the city as you go up each pavilion and the art is well placed and thought out. It is just a very cool place, one could easily spend an entire day here. I couldn't get the WiFi to work on my phone but you shouldn't be in your phone much here anyway. It is easily one of my favorite museums I've visited.
Once inside, the lobby has a mesmerizing glass roof. Their permanent collection is mediocre in my opinion. However, they do exhibit some interesting specials. Nice environment and good location.
